30-Minute Savory Salmon Burgers
We couldn’t believe these burgers were made with canned salmon because they taste so fresh! Using canned salmon will only set you back about 30 minutes, and it’s easier to find at the store if you live in an area with food shortages.
What You'll Need:
2 Cans of Salmon, drained
1 Bunch of Green Onions, Sliced
1 Bunch of Cilantro, Minced
Zest of 1 Lemon
Juice of 1 Lemon
½ Cup of Bread Crumbs
1 Teaspoon of Ground Black Pepper
1 Teaspoon of Salt
½ Teaspoon of Cayenne (more if you like it spicy!)
1 tablespoon of paprika
2 Cloves of Garlic Minced
½ cup of bread crumbs
1 Egg
2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
Flour for dusting
For Serving:
2 Tablespoons of Butter (for toasting buns—optional!)
Mayo
Lettuce
Tomato
Directions:
Pause and give the mix a taste (that’s the beauty of canned salmon!)—if you feel it needs more spice or seasoning, feel free to add some more in to season to taste.
Place a non-stick frying pan on the stove over medium heat. Add in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. While the oil heats up, mix in the egg and then flour your hands and form four large patties. Dust the outsides of the patties to make them easier to handle. Place the patties into the skillet, and sear on both sides for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Flip with a spatula and sear the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes.
While the patties cook, butter some hamburger buns with 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the patties are all cooked, toast the buns in the same pan (optional)
Assemble your patties with mayo, lettuce, red onion & tomato (optional) and serve on an 8.5” Dixie® Everyday plate. Enjoy!
