Big-Batch Cooking 101
1. Plan your menu.
Make a list of family favorites, like casseroles, stews and stir-fries.
2. Shop smart.
Check the pantry for what you’ve already got. Don’t forget to double or triple your recipe when big-batch cooking.
3. Plan for storage.
Make sure you have the appropriate containers and enough space in your fridge or freezer.
4. Date your containers.
Track leftovers with some tape and a marker by jotting down the date you cooked an item on its container.
5. Clean up as you cook.
When you are big-batch cooking, it helps keep the mess under control. Better yet, get the kids to help.
6. Enjoy the leftovers!
Don't forget they're in the fridge or freezer. Refrigerated foods are best within three days.
